Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia

Started in 1995, Schizophrenia.com is an internet community dedicated to providing high quality information, support and education to the family members, caregivers and individuals whose lives have been impacted by schizophrenia.  We are dedicated to improving the lives of all individuals and families suffering from schizophrenia, and in speeding the research progress towards a cure.

The site is managed by a group of independent volunteers and contractors around the world – most of whom are either family members (with sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, or parents who have suffered from schizophrenia) or people who have schizophrenia. While most of our writers are students of psychiatry, psychology and neuroscience, for the most part we are not full-time working mental health professionals but we are very familiar with the disease both through direct personal experience and extensive reading on the topic.

1 in 6

1 in 6Researchers estimate that 1 in 6 men have experienced unwanted or abusive sexual experiences before age 18. This is likely a low estimate, since it doesn’t include non-contact experiences, which can also have lasting negative effects.
If you’ve had such an experience, or think you might have, you are not alone.
If you wonder whether such an experience may be connected to some difficulties or challenges in your life now, you are not alone.

National Center for Victims of Crime

National Center for Victims of Crime

The mission of the National Center for Victims of Crime is to forge a national commitment to help victims of crime rebuild their lives. We are dedicated to serving individuals, families, and communities harmed by crime.
The National Center for Victims of Crime is a nonprofit organization that advocates for victims’ rights, trains professionals who work with victims, and serves as a trusted source of information on victims’ issues. After more than 25 years, we remain the most comprehensive national resource committed to advancing victims’ rights and helping victims of crime rebuild their lives.
The National Center is, at its core, an advocacy organization committed to — and working on behalf of — crime victims and their families. Rather than focus the entire organization’s work on one type of crime or victim, the National Center addresses all types of crime.

Violence unSilenced

Violence unSilenced

Violence UnSilenced is a resource site that has been fostered by a community of rape, domestic violence, childhood abuse survivors and personal bloggers. Formerly a non-profit organization guided by a board of directors, the site is now maintained by Violence UnSilenced founder, journalist Maggie Ginsberg. From 2008–2104, the Violence UnSilenced project published personal accounts of interpersonal violence, giving voice to over many hundreds of survivor stories. The project is no longer accepting new submissions or comments, but it still offers access to the existing body of stories to stand as powerful, collaborative testimonial that honors survivors everywhere. Please continue to read, to speak out, and to support one another.

Carly Marie Project Heal

Carly Marie Project Heal

If you are here because your heart is broken my hope for you is that you can begin to heal, grow and learn and that you can find the light that shines within you… it never goes out, it may dim at times, but like your soul, your light is eternal. May you find your light again and see that you are a real gift to this world. In time, I pray that you discover the gifts that your child has left for you in their short life. Just like every baby who is born healthy and alive, your child is a miracle and a true gift to you and this Earth.

With love and blessings to you,

CarlyMarie
