Implicit Associations

Presented by the University of Washington and Yale University, there are different assessments that don’t take much time to take (usually five minutes or less) and have different things in them–such as gender, race, names, presidents, etc. When you take the assessment, you pick what you feel is related to that name or meaning.

I actually took these “implicit associations” as an earlier psychology student, and was surprised at the results.  While I don’t know if I always agreed with the result, the associations are shown to prove that there are biases and prejudices within us all.

While you (or sometimes myself) may not always find it one hundred percent accurate in your “diagnosis” of your behaviors and feelings towards others (and yourself), it can also give you a good idea of where your weaknesses or areas of improvement could lie.
