Psycline

PSYCLINE is owned and managed by psychologist Dr. Armin Günther, University of Augsburg, Germany. The website started in 1995 under its former name Links to Psychological Journals and has won a high reputation as one of the (if not as the) most comprehensive and up-to-date index of psychology and social science journals on the web.

Implicit Associations

Presented by the University of Washington and Yale University, there are different assessments that don’t take much time to take (usually five minutes or less) and have different things in them–such as gender, race, names, presidents, etc. When you take the assessment, you pick what you feel is related to that name or meaning.

Autism Speaks

Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society. The video library mini clips documents symptoms and behaviors associated with pervasive developmental disorders.

Childhelp

Not surprisingly, the perspectives of the children served by Childhelp are varied. Some have known nothing but abuse and neglect, believing they were alone and that no one cared. Others lived in happy homes with caring, loving families, only to be hurt by someone outside the home, usually someone they already knew and trusted.

Stop Silent Suffering

If a loved one or someone you know is going through a progressive late-stage illness… and taking certain prescription pain relievers, a common side effect is constipation that can be debilitating and difficult for them to talk about. But even if they remain silent, you can be their voice. To learn more about ways that can help break the silence, go to our website.

Eye of the Storm

First posted in 1995, these pages (plus the bibliography and selected links to other websites) provide lots of information about DMH concepts including: typical victim reactions to traumatic events; psychological first aid; disaster preparedness; self-care for relief workers; spirituality; and tips on working with sudden loss of loved ones, including a handout for the survivors.

The International Paruresis Association

The International Paruresis Association (IPA) was founded in 1996 to raise public awareness about paruresis, provide support, and give out the latest information. Most of IPA’s members and leadership are treatment professionals, people suffering from paruresis or recovering from it, and their loved ones. Membership is open to anyone touched by paruresis as well as those with an interest in supporting others with paruresis, advocating for their rights, and advancing scientific knowledge about the disorder.
