Phew!! - It has been a very busy and productive few months. Rachel and Stephen (from cre8d) and myself have been working away on both sites, PsychSplash and PsychAntenna and I think I can say that these sites are finally ready to roll for 2008! You will have noticed significant changes on PsychSplash, particularly relating to the format of posts.
Each PsychSplash post now contains: link to site URL, RSS feed (if the site publishes one), target audience, topics covered and features of the site. I really hope this makes it easier for people to browse in their areas of interest. The design is much simpler and less cluttered now, allowing readers to quickly scan the sites included. The RSS feed now contains the same basic information (links & categories), so throw it in your RSS reader and you will get fully detailed updates of the sites I add. The “Archives” page contains a listing of the various categories I have used over time. The “Contact” page is where you tell me about sites you use.
A couple of little features that may interest readers. “Editors Pick” sites (featured with a special border around the image) are those that have excelled in terms of a) information provided and b) design and user interface of the site. “Hat Tip” (which you will find on some posts, on the right of the image) is my way to linking back to those bloggers and website owners who alerted me to the resource.
Over at PsychAntenna, a raft of changes have improved the navigation of the site. The “Home” page is where you can search or browse psychology RSS feeds. The PsychAntenna Blog is where you can learn more about RSS as well as developments on the site. Currently at 225 feeds, I hope to break the 500 mark by the end of 2008. A site about RSS feeds wouldn’t be complete without RSS feeds of its own. The “Update” feed lists the latest resources added to the PsychAntenna catalogue. The “Blog” feed contains the latest posts added to the blog. Again, if you are a website owner or keen reader and know of good psychology sites that publish RSS feeds, let me know on the “Submit” page.
I really hope that the changes made to these sites make them enjoyable and useful resources for students and professionals in psychology, as well as consumers of psychological information. It is time to go surfing!!
