TomK from GoodTherapy.org (profiled previously) contacted via comments to update me on some developments that have taken place over at GoodTherapy. Here is what Tom had to say:
Hi Gareth, It’s TomK from GoodTherapy.org customer support. I just wanted to let you know that we have many new features on GoodTherapy.org, including 4 new regular contributors with exciting new columns about counseling & psychotherapy:
Ethics in Psychotherapy by Susan Buckles, LCSW;
The Human Being of Therapy by Greg Madison, Ph.D.;
Integrating Psychotherapy & Spirituality by John Rhead, Ph.D.;
Collaboration and Nonpathology in Psychotherapy by Noah Rubinstein, LMFT
Another exciting development on GoodTherapy.org is the First GoodTherapy.org Winter Teleconference Series. This series will present FREE teleconferences to GoodTherapy.org me members. The first series includes presentations from Richard Schwartz, Ph.D. the developer of Internal Family Systems Psychotherapy; Cedar Barstow the developer of The Right Use of Power (which is an Attachment Based approach to Ethics); and Steven Hoskinson, MA a senior trainer with the Foundation for Human Development presenting on Somatic Experiencing.There are many other exciting events happening at GoodTherapy.org and we invite therapists and non therapist alike to take part in our resources.
Thanks,
TomK

Thanks PsychSplash for posting about http://www.GoodTherapy.org As a psychologist in private practice, I highly recommend this website for people who want to learn about healthy psychotherapy & counseling. Not only is it the safest way to find a good counselor, GoodTherapy.org has tons of information about models of therapy, approaches to counseling, and articles on all kinds of psychotherapy issues. This is in part why I recommend goodtherapy.org to anyone. But the deeper reason I recommend goodtherapy.org is because of the relief I feel to find a site that promotes the idea that people are capable of healing and growth, that people have what it takes inside to find health and happiness. I applaud GoodTherapy.org for offering an alternative to the medical pathology based approach that dominates the mental health system.
http://www.goodtherapy.org looks like a remarkable organization. And I love psychsplash too for turning me on to so many great sites about psychology and counseling.
